Workforce & Industry Development (W&ID)

ACSA’s Workforce & Industry Development Unit delivers information and services that improve quality and support sustainability of organisations operating within the aged care services sector. We take a strategic approach in the work we do, staying at the forefront of industry trends, providing information and implementing initiatives that develop and support the delivery of quality services to older Australians, that meet expectations and are responsive to consumer needs.
We work with our stakeholders to encourage leadership in change on the areas of workforce planning, workforce development and sector support & development, to:
Our stakeholders include aged care services providers and workforce, state and federal Government departments, training and educational organisations, employment service providers, other key industry groups and aged persons and their families.
A key part of this approach is to create an environment that supports and encourages aged services organisations, and other relevant stakeholders, to take the initiative and think about how they can work together to achieve common workforce goals.

Workforce initiatives
ACSA’s role is to be an enabler, not to ‘do for’ but to support organisations to do for themselves
The following workforce initiatives have been developed and implemented by taking the ‘together we can approach’ and actively support organisations to attract, recruit, develop and retain employees who are right fit and have the required skills and knowledge to enable the delivery of quality services to older Australians.
