ACHS - driving quality and safety improvements in healthcare
The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) is Australia’s largest healthcare accreditation agency, supporting a range of accreditation programs including the national health care accreditation system.
With 47 years’ experience driving quality and safety improvement programs, ACHS also takes a lead role in delivering educational and training programs for the broad health sector including aged care.
Who we are
Established as an independent, not-for-profit organisation, ACHS has built a strong reputation in improving the quality of health care both here in Australia and overseas through continual review of performance assessment and accreditation, supported by valuable education.
What we do
ACHS works with healthcare professionals, consumers, government and industry stakeholders. We provide relevant, contemporary education programs to meet demand for ‘fit-for-purpose’ programs and training to give aged care workers the necessary tools to deliver safe, person-centred care.
The ACHS Improvement Academy
Quality and safety are no longer ‘nice to haves’ but an essential way health services need to be delivered with the consumer in mind. Building capability in quality improvement, clinical services redesign and patient safety has been the Academy’s driving goal.
