Anna has worked in community aged & disability care for 30 years, and has championed the consumer self-directed care movement in Australia through advocacy, research, best-practice service design and resource development.

Following a decade of research and project work to design, implement and evaluate CDC and self-management models in home care, Anna now supports home care providers to develop innovative consumer engagement strategies, home care program design and evaluation, and quality audit preparation. Annastacia Wainaina, New South Wales

Annastacia Wainaina is the creator of the Freedom Fires. A step-by-step process designed to assist conscious leaders to look within, so that they can burn through the fear and the doubts that inhibit our ability to step into the greatest level of service possible for our lives.

Annastacia’s personal journey into freedom started on the endless plains of Kenya where, as a child, she would dream about all of the possibilities for her life. By the time she was a teenager her innate courage and curiosity eventually led her to spread her wings moving to Finland where she studied nursing.

Upon arriving in Sydney in 2007, Annastacia continued her career as a nurse before transitioning into aged care. Since then she has moved into a leadership role providing strategic support for managing aged care and hospitals. Annastacia is an experienced clinical consultant and coach focusing on optimising leadership capability to achieve great outcomes.

Today, alongside her career on the front lines of health, Annastacia is also a podcast host of Freedom Fire, and the author of Ignite - Blazing The Fires Inside of You. She is a professional speaker and a leadership strategist who is on a mission through her message to ignite new possibilities and to light a fire under purpose, passion in order enable humanity to reach a higher potential together. David Wray, Western Australia

David Wray brings a mix of policy, program management, clinical and operational expertise to his role as an ACSA Consultant.

David graduated as a Social Worker from Curtin University in 1990 and has undertaken post-graduate studies in Health Administration and Business Management. He worked as social work specialist in regional WA and Perth, and between 1998 and 2013 was a Policy Director and Manager for the WA Government in a range of portfolios, including Seniors/ Aged; Social Policy; Volunteering; Crime Prevention; Mental Health; and Alcohol and other Drugs.

Diane Herr, New South Wales (and interstate)

Diane Herr is a Residential Aged Care Consultant with 14 years’ experience in this role, the last ten years with ACSA. Diane’s role is to assist clients to achieve and maintain compliance against the Quality Standards, to ensure the best outcome for the resident. This would include conducting reviews, training, mentoring, assisting with ACQSC responses and requirements.

Diane is a Registered Nurse and her passion for aged care has extended over

Julia Currell, Victoria (and interstate)

With extensive experience in the Acute, Aged, Disability and Community Care sectors, Julia as a Registered Nurse has worked to implement effective change management by empowering teams to drive continuous improvement. Working as a “hands on” Clinical Advisor, Senior Executive service provider, Compliance Regulator, and decision-maker has provided Julia with valuable insight into the current complexities of providing consumer-driven care in a diverse regulatory environment. Her experience also covers incident and complaint management.

As a previous Executive Quality Manager of Disability Services, Julia is using this knowledge to assist residential aged care providers to meet NDIS registration requirements. Julia strengths include Clinical Governance, change management, and quality systems and processes to achieve best practice care and services. Julia has completed a Masters of Organisation Change and Consultancy, Graduate Diploma of Organisation Behaviour, Certificate of Clinical Governance and Patient Care, and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
