Attract and retain the right fit workforce

ACSA’s Workforce & Industry Development is looking forward to continuing to deliver initiatives and services in 2020, to help the Aged Care Services sector retain and develop the workforce of the future.

15 Jan 2020

We attract, recruit, develop and retain employees who are right fit and have the required skills and knowledge to enable the delivery of quality services to older Australians.

Our team is now delivering services in all states and territories of Australia, with regional representation to drive and facilitate a range of workforce initiatives that focus on attraction and retention.

2020 will see a range of Workforce & Industry Development activities, events and programs across Australia to support organisations and the sector as a whole to have the right fit people in the right roles at the right time.

In WA we have a Regional Workforce Committee planning day coming up on January 29 in Bunbury to discuss the next steps and to demonstrate the new online Workforce Hub.  We have also been working collaboratively on the Boosting the Local Care Workforce project to deliver awareness and training around projected workforce shortages within the Aged Care Services sector.

Other upcoming activity in WA will see us meet with Job Active providers to promote key information on the right-fit workforce and to discuss pathways into Aged Care Services such as the pre-traineeship Certificate II in Ageing.

In 2020 we will continue to support rural, remote and very remote Aged Care Services to meet current and future workforce needs in NT, WA, QLD and WA. ACSA will facilitate additional opportunities to build the capacity of communities to work collaboratively for the creation of sustainable employment and career pathways into the Aged Care Services sector.

Our work is essential for supporting and developing a qualified aged care workforce and ACSA is proudly at the forefront, helping organisations to achieve their workforce and industry development objectives.
