Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council

The Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council (ACIITC) was formed by two industry peak bodies (including Aged and Community Services Australia) in 2007 with the express intent of providing the industry with a vehicle to consider and debate innovation and technology-related opportunities, and to disseminate the lessons learnt from across the wider aged and community care sector.

As the leading technology and innovation voice for the sector, the ACIITC highlights the importance of cybersecurity and calls for national attention to this critical issue.

We understand in recent times there has been an increase of cyber-attacks on aged and health care facilities. The protection of consumers’ information is essential to the delivery of care. We encourage the sector’s uptake of technology processes, and practices to protect networks, devices and programs from attack, damage, or unauthorised access.

In August 2020, the ACIITC held a national forum focused on ensuring the safety of the aged and community care sector and discussed critical messages around cybersecurity. The recording of this webinar will be released shortly and available on
