Employee Relations

As a service exclusive to members, ACSA provides accessible and professional Employee Relations advice, guidance and advocacy on employee and industrial relations matters including:

  • interpretation of employment and WHS legislation,
  • active participation in the Modern Award Reviews,
  • review of legislation and regulations impacting on the aged and community care industry,
  • assisting members in managing the employee lifecycle including managing performance and disciplinary processes, and
  • assistance with WHS/Workers Compensation matters.

Our in-house expertise is complemented by a dedicated ACSA ER service delivered through performHR. performHR has a solidreputation for quality and customer focus. Their knowledge of the Aged and Community Care industry and the Australian Employee Relations legislative framework, climate and trends, means that you will be provided with specialist advice specific to our industry and your individual needs and requirements.

The support model replicates the scope provided by ACSA’s own in-house Employee Relations team including development of monthly Employee Relations newsletters and the introduction of Employee Relations webinars – all included with your current ACSA membership.

About Anna-Maria Wade, Employee Relations Manager

Anna-Maria has a diverse background with experience across multinational pharmaceutical manufacturing, recruitment and vocational education. Since 2010, Anna-Maria has worked in the NFP aged care sector: initially in an HR capacity for an ACSA member in rural NSW and more recently in Employee Relations with ACSA. Anna-Maria works closely with our members who are operating in challenging circumstances to better manage their greatest asset, their people, through advocacy, advice, education and support in the context of industrial relations, HR and WHS.

About Monique Irvine, Employee Relations Advisor

Monique Irvine is experienced Industrial Relations Professional with over 25 years’ experience in the Industrial Relations field. Monique has worked for Trade Unions in Transport, Public and Private Health and Aged care sectors and for employers as an Employee Relations advisor. Over the last 6 years, Monique has worked at  Veolia Environmental Services, ACS NSW / ACT, ran her own HR /IR Consultancy Business and now working at ACSA. Monique possesses strong negotiation skills, industrial relations and advisory skills. She is an employee relations professional with both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master's degree in Political Science from UNSW.
