Overview

Attention: Managers of Home Care Services. Are you aware of the legal expectations of your staff?

We will look at the WA Coroner’s inquest into a Home Care recipient’s death to examine the role of staff, Dr’s, clients and families in care provision and the importance of a robust clinical governance framework for your organisation.

Expected Outcomes

  • Understand how to share clinical governance responsibilities between Dr, staff, client and families.
  • Know how to clarify clinical governance in service agreements and subcontracting
  • Understand role and responsibilities for wound care, diabetes, dementia safety, self-neglect, and enabling dignity of risk
  • Recognise responsibilities for staff, risk, complaint and incident management
  • Practice resolving clinical governance failures
