ACSA Webinar: COVID-19 Vaccination Update for Aged Care Providers​
19 January 2021:
ACSA hosted a webinar regarding the national roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine.  Dr Chris Moy (Board Director from Australian Medical Association) addressed many of the medical questions from ACSA members and Libby Pallot (Principal from Russell Kennedy) addressed some of the complex legal and employment issues associated with whether vaccination is mandated by Government or otherwise. Aged care staff and residents being the first priority for early access. ACSA has advocated to Government that it should be mandating the vaccine for staff consistently around the country. ACSA COVID-19 Webinar: Managing with residential aged care visitor restrictions
23 April 2020: 
ACSA's COVID-19 Webinar series continued on 22 April with a focus on managing with residential aged care visitor restrictions. Gemma McGrath from ACSA industry partner Panetta McGrath Lawyers discussed the legal implications around visitor restrictions, including what needs to be considered when deciding whether to have tighter restrictions than required by the Commonwealth and/or the relevant State/Territory Governments. 
ValleyView Residences is a 64-bed facility in the regional Western Australian town of Collie that currently has a policy of no visitation of residents. Executive Manager Joy Halleron takes us through her experience of implementing and maintaining that policy. Watch the webinar recording

The Department of Health has secured this online training module to provide care workers across all sectors including health, aged care and disability with infection prevention and control (IPC) for COVID-19. 

Over the coming weeks, there will be more modules developed and added to this site. For now, it is important that all frontline workers complete this training so they can feel confident in protecting their health and providing best-practice infection prevention, including those who may be at higher risk of COVID-19.
